The importance of fresh ground coffee:
Ground coffee stays fresh for 2-10 minutes before it loses half of its aroma and thus precious flavours. For this reason we strongly recommend purchasing a coffee grinder for home use. It will significantly improve your cup of coffee with respect to coffee farmers and coffee roaster’s professional efforts.
Types of grinders:
There are 3 types of grinders available:
- Flat burr grinders
- Conical burr grinders
- Cutting blade grinders
Many coffee professionals have an individual preference for conical or flat burrs. Both burr types can perform on a high quality standard. The Baratza Encore has conical burrs. Blade grinders on the other hand are not for quality brewing, they create too many differences in particle size and don’t allow much potential for your coffee.
